Mill Brook Room Restaurant
The Mill Brook Room is at the heart of the Mill. Our head Chef and his team have developed a menu of modern English cuisine with a strong French influence. The a la carte menu is based on the finest locally-sourced seasonal produce and is prepared with dedication and consistent attention to detail.
Starters include foie gras and chicken liver parfait with truffle brioche, or seared scallops with potted shrimps and shallots, and a ginger and lemon dressing. Main course include fillet of black bream with rattie potatoes, chorizo, spinach and saffron and tomato stock, or breast of duck with braised red cabbage, potato blini, and a sultana, soy and ginger dressing. A vegetarian option of open lasagne of roast beetroot, spinach, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese and pesto is another favourite. Desserts feature a summer berry and Beaujolais jelly with fresh cream, or a orange panna cotta with a chocolate cream pot and biscotti biscuits, or a selection of home-made ice creams. All breads and rolls are made in house.
The wine list includes a wide selection from around the World, and a good number are available in half bottles and by the glass.
The Mill Brook Room holds 2 AA Rosettes and is listed in the AA Resturant Guide, AA Britain's Best Hotels, and AA Best Places to stay for Food Lovers. The Hotel is also listed in the Michelin Guide 2008. |
